FARGO – Police here are looking for the man who robbed a south Fargo bank on Monday afternoon. Lt. Joel Vettel says a man in his 50s entered Gate City Bank at 1501 South University Drive around 4:05 p.m., indicated he had a weapon and demanded cash. Several employees were on hand at the time, Vettel said, and after handing over an unknown sum of money, the man left on foot in a northeastern direction. No one was injured. Vettel said “quality video” of the suspect was captured by the bank, and it appeared the man did not attempt to cover his face. “This will hopefully allow someone from the public to know who this individual is,” Vettel said. Police immediately released photos of the suspect. The suspect is described as a white male with gray hair and a beard, roughly 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighing about 200 pounds. He was wearing a camouflage hooded jacket, a light blue baseball hat and blue jeans. Vettel said police are following a number of leads, including using a canine unit to search the area.
