Teen voted to homecoming court as a cruel joke attends coronation

It looks like Cinderella is finally on her way to the ball. Whitney Kropp, the bullied teen who caught national attention when classmates cruelly nominated her for homecoming court as a joke, has been done up with a swanky red dress, a hot new haircut, and an attitude of empowerment. She attended the coronation Friday night, showing off her new look (which local salons and dress shops donated), and seemed to glow as media swarmed around her. The 16-year-old West Branch, Mich., girl said she considered suicide after learning that her nomination, which had come as a surprise, was actually a mean prank. But tonight, she and her boyfriend will have the last laugh.
