The Fargo-Moorhead Bucket List

When The Forum asked readers, “What would you do if you were moving out of the area, never to return?” answers seemed to take on two themes: food and people.

While there may be plenty of sights to see, such as taking in a movie at the famed Fargo Theatre or taking a trip out west to the world-famous Badlands, which even former president Teddy Roosevelt could hardly bear to leave, in the land of Scandinavian and German descendants, this area’s Italian fare – or pizza, speaking precisely – topped the bucket lists of many.

But, when it comes to what is truly unique in this area, it’s the people that topped the lists. Maybe because it takes a special kind of person to ride out the hot and humid summers followed only by freezing cold and blowing snow (sometimes within a week). Regardless of the reason, residents around here hold their fellow North Dakotans and Minnesotans in the highest of esteem, making spending quality time with friends and family hit the top of their bucket lists.

Jessie, Amanda and Pike weighed in, as well. Amanda would stock up at the Happy Harrys Penny Wine Sale, see a concert at Bluestem Center for the Arts and spend one last night at Lucky's 13 Pub. Jessie would hit up Happy Harrys and then head off to the OB for a wedge and some chilli! Pike would slip and slide all day on the downtown dike!
